Not that long ago…
I was working a managerial position 40-50 hours a week, photographing weddings/families on the side, running my house, squeezing in my workouts, saying yes to everyone and every commitment, getting headaches on my days off, never finding the time to eat full meals and enjoy them, constantly feeling overtired, burnt out, and frustrated upon waking every single morning, and at the same time becoming pregnant. Anything and everything that was important to me was last on my to do list, if I ever even really got to it. I had one of those moments one day where I stopped and said to myself is this really what my life is going to be like? There HAS to be something more…I hit pause, and thought long and hard about this. There has to be more. I picked up a pen and paper, wrote out what things make my soul sing, what gets me excited, what would make me want to jump out of bed in the morning? Synchronicity took over, as I found a pamphlet at work from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition left by a women who is a Health Coach who I knew from my job. One phone call later, and encouragement from my husband and best friend, and I was signed up to begin training to become a Health Coach. I was skeptical at the time, but throughout my year of training, my life truly was transformed. I went from being burnt out, stuck, anxious and stressed, to feeling like I have it all, that whole “the world is my oyster” thing, and everything was under my control.
I learned how to apply small changes to my daily life, to build up to transforming my entire life to what I had always envisioned it to be. Becoming pregnant, and having my sweet little girl was one of the biggest factors for instituting this change, and sticking to it. Yes, I had a baby, and my life fell into place. I am more rested now than I was before (you heard me right), I am finding that the things I always envisioned would be part of my ideal day are working their way into my life, (spending more time in the woods, having slower, intentional mornings), and I am in tune with my body and what it needs, knowing to rest when I need it, and going the extra mile when I have energy. I learned that self love, and self care come above everything, and that how my life works day to day is completely in my hands. I say yes to things that resonate with me, and work for me. I spend more time moving my body like I always wanted to-not rushing through workouts or doing them just to say I did them. I spend more time in the woods, hiking, biking, running, and swimming. I committed to starting the BBG program as well. I have a morning routine that sets me up for a successful day, I spend more time in my kitchen, making homemade meals for myself and my family. I learned the tools I need to overcome anxiety and stress when they hit. One of my biggest takeaways is that I get to do what I love, and help others on their path to balance and wellness. I never realized that my passion for healthy eating, fitness, and creating a balanced lifestyle would lead to me helping others do just that. I am in love with my life now, and what I do.

I really, truly, and honestly love my life. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams, and am thankful every damn day for what I have been given in life. I am a wife, to my husband Tommy, a mama to our baby girl Amelia, and together we have four animals, 3 cats, and our dog Sophie. I am a homebody (no wanderlust here), and the only other place I love as much as my home is the beach in Ogunquit, Maine. I am a fitness lover, a beach goer, (crazy about summer, like seriously crazy about summer), I love to garden, and I love being in the kitchen cooking up nourishing meals for my loved ones. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband (he’s my best friend), we love getting outside with each other-biking, taking walks, working on our yard, bringing our dog hiking. My family and friends means everything to me, they are the substance of my life. I am a total busybody, and I never really slow down (ask my friends) I enjoy being busy, especially now because my days are filled with things that I love doing.
One golden life.
Something I always like to remind myself is that we are only given one golden life, and one body, and one mind. Why not feed it the best foods, thoughts, and experiences so we feel unstoppable our whole lives? I want to spread the word that the life you have always dreamt of is attainable, and you can have it. I want to inspire others to eat well, live well, and FEEL well. I love sharing what I know, and I really appreciate that you are here following along.
